I have been fat since I was 8 or 9 years old. As I got older, I got bigger. My parents tried to help but in those days it was just top eating. I was active but a lonely child who wanted to play with a fat girl. I had many friends but not really close friends. I was last to be picked for a team except football. I even took diet pills which did nothing they claimed, most made me sick or always tired or jittery.
In 1997, I was told I was a diabetic. I already was on pills for high blood pressure. I thought the pills will take care of it. I was wrong about every appointment it was a new pill or more on top of what I was taking.
On Dec. 30, 2002, I was at my appointment and the doctor said, I would have to start taking insulin plus the pills I was on. My weight was 319.2 pounds by this time and my blood pressure was 180/110. My triglycerides were over 700 (normal being 100). I was taking pills 3-3x a day for sugar or 9 per day. One pill 1x a day for trig.; all together a total of 13 pills. I was having a hard time walking. I could only walk a few feet and my legs would burn and hurt. My knees were bad to begin with the doctor said bone on bone.
My pant size was 28-30 and shirt a size 4 or 5 X-large.
After that appointment I joined Weight Watchers. I lost about 30 # by Sept. of that year but I needed more. I was not exercising as Weight Watchers encouraged you to do. I say your story on TV and bought one of the first gazelles in November at Wal-Mart. At first I was not using it like I do now. You know how we are. It takes time to get into a new routine.
By this December 27, 2007, I made high goal in Weight Watchers. I went from 319.2 to 182#. I want to lose at least 10 more pounds. My pant size went from a size 28-30 to 12-14. My shirt went from a 4-5 X-large to a med.-large. I’m off all pills for 10mg of lisaprile which I hope to be off by the end of this year or a lower dosage.
I just bought the new Sprint Master Gazelle on January 28, 2008 from HSN Shopping Network.
Tony was showing people’s testimonial and asking us to send ours in. I thought that’s GREAT! After helping us to lose weight and offer us a reward for doing so.
When I started the most I could do was about 5 to 10 min at a time. I’m now up to over 1 hour without stopping and I still feel great after. My knees do not hurt doing the Gazelle. I have tried the treadmills and my knee would swell the next day and I could hardly walk.
I even started a light weight class at our local hospital. We lift nothing heavier than 3 pounds, so it is light. My doctor suggested it because with all the weight lost I lost muscle as well.
Doctor Minter, I can tell you how wonderful I feel about myself. If anyone would have told me this five years ago, I would not have believed it. I eat better and with exercising my body feel better. Without all the pills I see things better and I’m not tired all the time, like before.
I consider the new Sprint Gazelle as my reward for losing weight.
Thank you again,
