March 5, 1994 TESTIMONIAL OF MARY SUMMERS In September, 2003 I was at a yard sale. I came across a Gazelle machine with the tape on sale for $40.00. I knew that was a GREAT DEAL from the commercials, so I bought it. It was placed in my bedroom and for two months it was a robe and purse holder. Not really realizing that I had reached my all time highest weight ever in November, 2003 of over 250 pounds. My children were fearful for my health and sat down and had a heart to heart with me. I was told that they wanted me to be in their lives and their children’s lives for many years. They want me healthy. My sons and grand-children had motivated me to get busy and use my Gazelle. I started with a 10 minute romp on the machine, the next day a little more. I’m to the point that I am up to 45 minutes to an hour with little to no effort. My first physical at the doctors office was a glowing report, at that time, I had lost 44 pounds and had lowered my cholesterol about 100 points.. My heart rate was lowered to an athletic rate and I am now being weaned off my high blood pressure medications. This was all accomplished with my Gazelle and monitoring a well rounded diet of approximately 2500 calories a day. I have gone from a size 22 plus size too working on a size 14. I am a large framed woman and choose not to go below a size 12. I regret not using my machine sooner, today it is almost my best friend and it is strange to say, I’m addicted to it. It is a totally private evening workout buddy of mine that helps me sleep better, more relaxed with a sense of accomplishment when I’m done. Recently, I was approached by a big strapping, handsome young man who came into my work. I could not believe my ears, he was asking me out. Knowing he was a young man of 21, I was extremely flattered and I humbly declined. However, it was a huge boost to my ego. I no longer shop in the Plus size section, I go directly to the Misses section and love the better selection of youthful styles. I am to the point that I feel comfortable enough to start dating again after 26 years. Today, some of the gentlemen I am seeing have made comments that I’m beautiful or I’m very attractive. I’m so surprised that when I get e-mails with those comments in writing. I immediately print them out to read over and over again. I am so grateful that at this point in my life, doing a start over, that in a few short months this machine and self determination, has paid off, ten fold. It has made me feel fantastic, healthy and now even SEXY. When I see old friends and in meeting new friends who say you’re so lucky I say it has nothing to do with luck! The weight is harder to take off than it was to put it on. It does not just melt off, it takes work. With having bad knees and joints, there has been no better machine in the world for me to use that allows me to keep working out and eventually meeting my goal.
